When Joe isn’t writing, he’s playing concerts with his beloved Family of collaborators. Sometimes, these shows involve five people, and sometimes they involve twenty people. Regardless of size, the concerts are always a strange and rousing hybrid of rock and roll and musical theater. The cornerstone of Joe’s concert work is The Joe Iconis Rock and Roll Jamboree, but Joe and The Family have performed countless gigs under different names, mutations, and influences. More than just a cabaret of songs by a new writer, the concerts are their own beasts, and an integral and essential part of Joe’s artistic life. Also, they are fucking fun. And a good excuse to spill some whiskey on Christmas lights.
