SURPRISE! “Wavesong” the new single from Iconis & Family is out now! 🌊 I wrote “Wavesong” for a very specific moment in THE UNTITLED UNAUTHORIZED HUNTER S. THOMPSON MUSICAL. Hunter has spent the entire show yelling about the dire state of America in the late 1960’s and how he thinks we ought to burn the whole thing down and start again. He says: “Every time I see progress, it’s followed by apocalypse. How many times does history have to repeat itself?” At the end of the first act, Hunter’s wife asks him to describe the America he wants to see and he responds with “Wavesong.” 🌊 While the subject matter is specifically tied to the events to the political and social upheaval of 1960’s and 1970’s America, my hope is that the song, and the musical, also speaks to today. Here’s to actively choosing hope. To not just floating with the tide, but swimming toward the goal. 🌊 And all hail HST… 🌊
